INVITATION TO A PRIVATE SCREENING OF
DEAN SPANLEY

We invite you to attend our first event of 2009: a private screening of the acclaimed new movie Dean Spanley on Thursday 5 February at 8.15pm at the Lido Cinema, Epsom.

The film's score has been composed by Don McGlashan, and part of the music includes two short contributions by Musica Sacra recreating the sound of an English Cathedral Choir singing music by Croft and Byrd. These were recorded in Auckland in 2008.

Directed by Toa Fraser and filmed in England and New Zealand, Dean Spanley is the first NZ movie to have been given a gala premiere screening at the opening of the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival, whose website says "Featuring a career-capping performance by Peter O'Toole and a magical melange of fine wine, canines and eccentric behaviour, Dean Spanley is a rare pleasure". The cast also includes Sam Neill, Jeremy Northam and Bryan Brown.

Seats for Musica Sacra's private screening are strictly limited to 160 and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Tickets are $25 each and include a glass of wine and canapes as well as admission to the screening.
